Using Roundhand

These terms are an agreement between you and Ashwini & Co, which makes Roundhand. They cover the Roundhand app for the Mac and the roundhand.dev website.

By using Roundhand you accept these terms. When they change, the new version is posted here with a new effective date.

Distribution

Roundhand is distributed directly, from the download page and its public release on GitHub, and not through the Mac App Store.

The app updates itself from the same release feed. Download Roundhand only from these sources.

Plans

Roundhand has a free plan and two paid plans, Pro and Power. What each plan includes, and its current price, is on the pricing page.

A new account starts with a trial of cloud cleanup with a limited allowance. After the trial, dictation with offline rules cleanup stays free.

Pro includes managed cloud cleanup up to a monthly allowance. When the allowance runs out, cleanup falls back to offline rules until the next period, and nothing extra is charged.

Power is for people who use their own API key. The provider of that key bills you for its use, separately from Roundhand.

Renewal

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.

Polar charges your saved payment method at each renewal. You can manage your subscription, payment method and invoices in Polar's customer portal, which the app links to.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time in Polar's customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal.

If you cancel, you keep access to your paid plan until the end of the current paid period.

Your account returns to the free plan only when the subscription ends, and nothing is charged after that.

Refunds

Polar is the Merchant of Record for Roundhand, so Polar handles payments and refunds.

Taxes

Polar is the Merchant of Record for every Roundhand purchase, so Polar calculates, collects and remits sales tax and VAT.

Where tax applies, it is added at checkout, and your receipt comes from Polar.

Acceptable use

Do not use Roundhand to break the law or to infringe anyone's rights.

Do not attack, overload or try to get around the limits of the account service or the managed cleanup service, and do not share, resell or extract the managed cleanup key that Roundhand issues to your Mac.

An account that breaks these rules may be suspended.

Warranty and availability

Roundhand is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Transcription and cleanup can make mistakes, so check the text before you rely on it.

The account service, the managed cleanup service and roundhand.dev may be unavailable at times. Dictation with offline rules cleanup keeps working on your Mac without them.

To the extent the law allows, the total liability of Ashwini & Co is limited to what you paid for Roundhand in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute about them is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of India.
