Dictation on Roundhand is free, and so is the cleanup that runs on your Mac: it removes filler words, sorts out restarts and fixes casing and punctuation, with or without a connection. What you pay for is cloud cleanup, which sends the text (never the audio) for better punctuation and wording. Pro includes a monthly allowance of it that we fund. Power is for people who already pay a provider and want to use their own API key.

Payment happens on Polar, our merchant of record, which adds any tax due at checkout. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Pricing questions
- What does the 15-day trial include?
- The trial gives a new Roundhand account 15 days of cloud cleanup with a limited allowance, and no payment details are needed. It starts when you first sign in with your email address, and signing out and back in does not start it again. Dictation and the offline cleanup are part of Roundhand whether or not the trial is running.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- When the trial ends, Roundhand keeps working on the free plan and cleanup switches to the offline rules on your Mac. You are not charged and nothing is locked. To keep cloud cleanup, choose Pro or Power from Plans in the app.
- Does the free plan stay free?
- Yes, dictation with offline cleanup stays free with no time limit. The free plan has no word limit set by Roundhand; paid plans only add cloud cleanup.
- What is the difference between Pro and Power?
- Pro includes managed cloud cleanup up to a monthly allowance, with nothing to set up; Power uses an API key you already have from a cleanup provider. On Pro, when the month's allowance runs out, cleanup falls back to the offline rules until the next period and nothing extra is charged. On Power, your provider bills you for what you use, separately from Roundhand.
- Should I pay monthly or yearly?
- Both billing periods give you the same plan; yearly is paid once a year and costs less than twelve monthly payments. The switch above the plans shows each yearly price and what it comes to per month. Pro's cleanup allowance resets every month on either period.
- How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?
- You can cancel at any time in Polar's customer portal, which the app links to. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and your paid plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for; after that your account returns to the free plan. Polar is the merchant of record and handles refunds: see checkout help on the Roundhand support page or write to support@roundhand.dev.
- Do prices include tax?
- No, tax is added at checkout where it applies. Polar, the merchant of record, works out and collects any sales tax or VAT, and your receipt comes from Polar.
